RALEIGH, NC –
DECEMBER 2004 – Cooper Hand Tools has introduced
its new and improved line of Crescent® brand tongue and
grove pliers that offer more adjustments for better fit and
greater versatility. The new pliers are available individually
in sizes from 7” to 20” with straight jaws and
in two- and three-piece sets. The 10” size is also offered
in an extra-wide and curve jaw model, in addition to the standard
straight jaw.
The additional adjustments provide a better
fit between the jaw faces and the workpiece so the teeth can
grip better. This results in a tool that does a better job
with reduced effort. Angled bias teeth have less chance of
marring the workpiece or rounding off a fastener and provide
greater torque transfer with less effort. The joint features
a precision-machined undercut rib and groove that won’t
slip which causes the jaws to be held tighter together as
gripping pressure increases.
Special forged alloy steel with induction hardened
teeth and hardened single-piece rivet construction provide
maximum durability. Distinctive red cushioned grips offer
comfort and control. The tools exceed ASME B107.23M-1997 performance.
Available in carded clamshell packaging. They
are available at participating independent and chain hardware
stores, at specialty stores and other retail outlets including
Internet retailers. Also available through industrial distributors.
