RALEIGH, NC – NOVEMBER 2004 – Cooper Hand Tools has introduced Crescent® brand 148-, 70-, and 30-piece tool sets that meet ANSI and ASME specifications.

The sets feature 72-tooth ratchet drives for a 5¾ swing perfect in tight spaces, convenient quick-release button operation, and 3/8” drive 12-point sockets to increase fastener contact area for maximum torque. Durable storage cases have raised-letter ID for each tool location so they’ll stay organized. And tools lock securely in place – a useful benefit for work vehicles or other places where tools get knocked around.

The 148-piece professional set contains all the tools needed for most mechanics’ applications, including 1/4”, 3/8”, and 1/2” quick-release ratcheting drives, with a wide selection of standard and deep sockets in the most common SAE and metric sizes. Complementing this socket and ratchet set is a variety of wrenches, drives, and pliers.

The 70-piece professional set includes 1/4” and 3/8” quick-release ratcheting drives, 32 SAE and metric sockets, 12 SAE and metric combination wrenches, and 24 other drivers, bits and keys.

The 30-piece professional set offers 3/8” drive versatility. With standard and deep sockets, SAE and metric sizes, two extensions, and a spark plug socket, this is a versatile, compact selection.

The sets are available at participating independent and chain hardware stores, at specialty stores and other retail outlets including Internet retailers and through industrial distributors. They are expected to retail for up to $85 for the 148-piece set, up to $55 for the 70-piece set, and up to $35 for the 30-piece set.
