COOPER HAND TOOLS ENTERS THE SIDING MARKET WITH NEW LINE OF WISS® BRAND TOOLS

APEX, N.C.  – May 19, 2006 – Cooper Hand Tools today announced the introduction of a new line of tools designed expressly for its entry into the siding market.  Brought to market under the Wiss brand of quality cutting tools, the new lightweight, ergonomic designs provide users with increased comfort, safety, efficiency and endurance.
For heavy-duty cutting on vinyl and aluminum siding, the new 16-ounce W12L Lightweight Aluminum Snip adds comfort and convenience when working on a ladder or in a challenging space.  The extended blade tip allows easy access to tight corners, and its large, ergonomically designed handles increase leverage and maneuverability.

The new WSLP1 Snap Lock Punch Tool creates a raised tab used to secure all vinyl and aluminum siding surfaces. With vinyl grips and spring-loaded jaws, the Snap Lock Punch Tool also can be used for securing plastic skirting to finishing, with increased comfort and efficiency.

The WTNP1 Trim Nail Punch features a sleek, textured body that improves overall grip and accuracy, allowing easy access to 1/2" J-Channel.  It can be used for nailing into soffit, fascia and up to 1-1/4" trim, assuring the proper setting depth for nailing without denting these surfaces.
SR1 Siding Removal Tool safely facilitates vinyl siding removal.   The one-piece steel design and vinyl grip allow for smooth and consistent operation, with added comfort and safety, and the offset blade prevents users’ hands from coming into contact with work surfaces.
